John and I were quite proud of ourselves because we went to the beach 2 weeks in a row! We decided that we liked Santa Monica better than Newport. Next time we will park further down, away from the pier, where it is more deserted. We also want to actually plan the trip and bring something to drink, read and sit on. (The something will not be one special thing that can do all three of those things, but probably a bag full of things that can do each thing individually...)
We wanted to go to Chapparal Motorsports after, but ended up getting stuck in traffic on the way home.
Sunday was the concert (after church, of course!) in San Diego. We left at about 4:30, arrived at 6:30, ate dinner, then made it into our seats with 30 minutes to spare. Again, a fun time was had by all. AC/DC may not be my favorite band, but I do have to admit that they put on a good show. The best thing about it was that it got me pumped to start going to concerts again... I forgot how exhilarating it is when the lights go down, the cheers start, and the first chord is played...
We went for a short drive around San Diego afterward, since Justin had never been. We drove over the Coronado bridge and around downtown to see the city lights. We made it home at 2:30 in the morning, luckily today was Labor Day so no school or work! The rest of today has been kind of a fog!
