Beating the Heat

When John came home the other day, we couldn't find Ibanez.

It has been very hot the last few days, so the babies have been trying to find the coolest place in the yard to lay during the day. We have been leaving the garage door open, and leaving them out of the run, so they can lay in the dark of the garage if they want.

We knew that the dogs like to sit in the dirt behind the trees in the dog run when it was hot, but were were to surprised to see how much they had, um, personalized it.

They had dug a hole about 2 feet deep and 4 feet in diameter under the cement in the dog run. It was so roomy, cozy and cool down there that John ending up finding Ibanez down there with a food bowl. Seriously, if they had opposable thumbs and access to some cash, I expect there would have been a flat screen tv and a fridge down there.

It was so cozy in fact, that Ibanez was not too excited about coming out. It took about 20 minutes of pleading, asking, treat offering and dragging to get her out.
