Owen's Milestones

That totally cliche thing about being a mom is totally true: time flies and you don't remember anything. I've been meaning to keep track of Owen's accomplishments, but sadly, I'm pretty much having to rely on pictures I've posted on instagram to remember. Also, it's probably not very likely that I will be able to write a letter to Owen every month, so it's probably a good idea to do a post on his milestones when I get the chance.

12 Months, 1 Week:

  •  started feeding himself (minestrone soup, turkey, string cheese, pineapple, kiwi)
  • new night time routine (bath, play time in bedroom, read "Where's Baby's Belly Button?," drink bottle, go to bed)
  • rides facing forward in truck

12 Months, 2 Weeks:

  • reads books on his own, especially non fiction. Loves all books with real pictures and words, especially animals and trucks.
  •  loves taking baths
  • gave up binky during the day
  • says "ga-guy" for everything (outside, hungry, light, doggy, banana, gramma)

12 Months, 3 Weeks:

  • started saying book, truck, click, stitch and duck
  • started being difficult while shopping

12 Months, 4 Weeks:

  • started walking
  • will Moo, and Roar when he sees cows, zebras, horses, bears or lions
13 Months, 1 Week:
  • drove a big rig with dada
  • able to play at the park on his own

14 Months, 1 Week:

  • can catch himself when he starts to fall, getting better balance
  • takes bites from our burritoes. Gets mad if bite is not big enough.
14 Months, 2 Weeks
  • awake during church, trying to avoid using binky. Does well reading books for about half of service. Trying to teach him "quiet"
  • can open kitchen cabinets and drawers. Sticks toys where they don't belong.

14 Months, 3 Weeks:
  • swims in Aunt Judy's pool, and at the hotel
  • learns to blow raspberries and jump on the bed from aunt kate
