So long, October. It's been real.

Is it just me? Or was October the longest month ever?

Included in October was 31 days full of excitement for Halloween, our first field trip, starting and completing my hardest masters class yet, starting my English class two nights a week, a gospel meeting, a wedding in San Diego, a trip to Disneyland, some super fun "that time of the month" adventures (not that you needed to know that, but it definitely added to the stress), really struggling with food/gym and just generally feeling overwhelmed. I am sad to admit that there were times I was short with my little ones, mean to John and too lazy for the "weightier things" like praying.

I hate that this happens, but I guess the more often it happens, the more I get practice in dealing with it?

John and I have fairly frequent very deep conversations about life in general, always unplanned and often for extended periods of time. While I love that we are on the same page about many things, and I KNOW that I am so lucky to have such awesome communication in my marriage, not only can they be exhausting, they are raising my expectations. I am finding it harder and harder to have a simple, stupid conversation. To laugh over nothing, and to do something for no reason, to do something that doesn't make sense. I want to be a silly, fun person, but I find myself becoming more and more serious. I am hoping this is just a result of spending the bulk of my time on the computer, with 5 year olds and speaking seriously with my husband. I am looking forward to spending time with friends and family over the holidays, and also going to the beach over Veteran's Day! I am also trying to talk to people more so I don't turn into a hermit. :)

So that's things right now. October was hard, but November will be better.

No seriously, it will. I get a lot of days off.

PS I am stealing an idea from my friend Miranda, which is a series of blog topics on honesty, asking questions about yourself, to make to think, to reveal things about yourself to others. There are 30 topics (below) meant to last 30 days, and I think I am going to try it. It's about to get real, yo.

Day 02 → Something you love about yourself.

Day 03 → Something you have to forgive yourself for.
